Do you remember the first time your parents heard you cuss or caught you flipping off your TV after raging over the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Sega Genesis game when you were five years old? I DO! And it was…awkward. Almost as awkward as Latino comedians, classic movie remakes, and crying in the theater as you watch the live action Lion King movie, which, coincidentally are all things we are talking about on today’s special “Mixed Bag of Amazingess” episode.

Lets all just take a collective deep breath…Ok, so Disney really does own everything doesn’t it? We’ve heard the cries of the people, we understand that we focus a lot on Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, etc….but can you blame us? That is all stuff that is currently going on in the world today. Mickey Mouse really is Thanos! So, today, this is our Anti-Disney show. We’re talking about anything and everything that ISN’T DISNEY! From new movies, shows and even other podcasts we think you guys should check out, this show has a little something for everyone’s binging pleasure. We’ve got all this and so much more, on this week’s episode of The Beta Report.
Disney has just bought this episode. Disney has also just bought our entire childhood, our children’s childhoods, and all of our futures. This episode is all about Disney. We got all of your details on The Mouse’s new streaming service: Disney+. From the low subscription amount, the upcoming release date, and all of the content that’ll be available from day one. We also react to the first Star Wars: Episode IX trailer, The Rise of Skywalker. What does that title mean? Was that the Death Star’s remains? And, is the Emperor, still, alive?
We got all that and so much more on this week’s episode of, The Beta Report.
We’re all saddened by the sudden—yet expected—news that The Punisher and Jessica Jones are now officially cancelled. The general consensus is that they’ll more than likely return on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+ due out later this year (presumably in the fall). So, with Disney making a push at the streaming service game and Hulu as well as Amazon Prime releasing great original content, is Netflix a sinking ship doomed to go under? Is there enough original content on Netflix’s roster to keep you on their service? Are they doing a good enough job of supplementing what’s leaving with something as good and/or better? The Beta Boys tackle all these questions and more, including a review of one of those original series: The Umbrella Academy.
Plus another New Tune Tuesday, on Thursday…except on Friday. All that an so much more on this week’s episode of The Beta Report.
There's no better way to prime your way to the weekend than a little Cardi B and your favorite Podcast hosts trying to sing the words to a song they don't know. Let's get it!

Comic-Con 2018 was this weekend aaaannnnddd....Did anyone really care? The Beta Boys are back to talk about the underwhelming sensation we all got after this year's Comic-Con. Its a reminder of just how much Disney/Marvel/Lucasfilm mean to the convention and how its presence and/or absence is definitely felt. Or is it something else? Is the lack of new and creative ideas put at the forefront once the spectacle of Disney and friends aren't there to hide the mediocrity?
But, it wasn't all doom and gloom, there were a few standouts that actually shattered our boredom and blew our expectations out of the water! The KON, Jay, and Uno dive into their favorite trailers from the Con and point out a few gems that we should all be looking forward to with a new TRAILER PARK segment.
Never mind the clickbait title, I think there is some truth to this. In one corner, there is a family of heroes that waited 14 years to release a sequel. In the other, we have a team of heroes who became a family, that spent 10 years doing nothing but releasing sequels. And, though we've grown up with both groups, there is a certain fondness for The Incredibles that is nestled deep in my Pixar loving heart. Knowing what Toy Story 3 was able to emotionally pull from me, I can already tell that The Incredibles can, and undoubtedly will, do the same. So, can The Incredibles be better films than The Avengers movies? Listen to find out!
So, on today's show, we dive into this week's GO/NO GO, which of course is: The Incredibles 2. We also break down this week's TOP 5, including the twisted and wholly terrifying new horror classic, Hereditary. Jay also gives his quick Ocean's 8 review. Make sure and stay tuned to this week's blog to read his full review. Finally, we have a brand new Trailer Park. All that and so much more, on this week's episode of The Beta Report.
When you're struck with a jolt of fear and the thunderous charge of danger is shockingly near. Worry not, as the electrifying duo of Black Lightning and Pun Man are here to light your darkest nights! Okay, that is about as punny as I can get without throwing up. But, this is our show in a nutshell. We review the CW's brand new super hero show Black Lightning's first episode. Are the characters compelling? Is the villain a real threat? Is this show Beta Approved? You'll have to listen to find out.
And, as the CW universe of DC characters continues to expand, we discuss what movie or TV universe we'd most like to live in. Would Uno like to live in the MCU to assume his secret super hero identity: Pun Man? Would the Kon want to meet the alternate Khan in the Star Trek Universe? Am I going to Never-land so that I can really be Forever Five?!? You'll just have to listen to find out.
We also decided to extend last week's SECRET WORD CHALLENGE for one more week! We also have a new SECRET WORD CHALLENGE for this week that would effect our blog. Plus, as always, we have a new...no, we have THREE PICKS OF THE WEEK for you to check out. All that and many many more puns, and so much more, on this week's episode of The Beta Report.
Dread it. Run from it. But The Beta Report will always bring you a new episode! The Beta Bros are back and we're reacting to the record breaking Avengers: Infinity War Trailer. We go toe to toe with Marvel's most formidable foe and breakdown Bruce Willis in Space aka Thanos' every move. What does his presence mean for our heroes who currently possess an Infinity Stone? Where is the Soul Stone? Who will die? Who will survive? Is Jay's one sided bromance with bearded Captain America weird? We answer all of those questions and so much more.
We also revel in the magnificence of Pixar's newest hit movie: COCO. Jay gives us his review of both COCO and the Frozen short movie: Olaf's Frozen Adventure. ¡Y no manchen hijos, esta pelicula esta pero requete-buena! ¡Te lo juro!
Plus, we got TWO new PICKS OF THE WEEK for you! We got all that and so much more on this week's episode of The Beta Report.
It's Episode 83! On today's show, The Beta Report breaks down all of the new reveals from this year's D23 Expo. From the live-action Aladdin movie to Infinity Wars and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, TBR discusses all of the breaking news coming out of the Disney Expo. We also review episode one of Game of Throne's Season 7. Even more exciting news...Jay has finally seen a whole episode of Game of Thrones! More on that, plus TBR's reactions to Arya the assassin, the guilty Hound, and the perfect episode ending. And finally, an old friend drops by on the show to discuss poetry and their literary work. He also masterfully performs some "collaborative" pieces of poetry that you wont hear anywhere else but here! All that and so much more, on this week's episode of The Beta Report.
Episode 76! Guardians of The Galaxy: Vol 2 is finally here. This has been one of our most anticipated movies of the year and, for some of us, it didn't disappoint. Though, not all of us felt the same about the movie. Some of us weren't really feeling the Brady Bunch-esque character drama that the movie presented. So, listen in to get our SPOILER FREE review of the film and find out what we loved and what we didn't like so much from the movie. Also, it wouldn't be a Guardians-centric show if we didn't talk about the music in the movie. Its no surprise that Guardians of The Galaxy and James Gunn have become synonymous with a great soundtrack, and this film lives up to that claim x 100! In that same vein, we look at other great songs that thrust their respective movies from great features to iconic films like Rocky and Eye of the Tiger, Top Gun and Danger Zone...and Guardians of the Galaxy : Vol 2 and The Chain (Trust us, that song makes this movie!). All that, plus a few surprises, on this week's episode of The Beta Report.
Its Episode 75! Through the course of this show's run, we've been fortunate enough to interview an amazing group of talented and insightful people. From producers, toy designers, make-up and hip-hop artists, to an actual Judge/Lawyer, a concha enthusiast and old childhood friends. Its always been our goal to book eclectic and entertaining guests who not only share our love for movies and comics, but who can also teach us a little something along the way. This episode is no different! This week, we had the opportunity to interview not only an old friend, but also a film director whose burgeoning voice in the industry will soon make him stand along side the great film makers reigning today. Aside from that, he is also currently involved in the TV/Film industry as a crucial component that breathes life to some of our favorite shows currently running, like: Designated Survivor, Marvel's: Agents of Shield, and Son of Zorn. As such, its our distinct pleasure to welcome Ricardo "Richie" Ramirez to this week's episode of The Beta Report. He'll be sharing insider knowledge regarding his job working behind the scenes on such high profile shows like the ones we mentioned above. He'll also talk a little about what its like to write, create, and film his own projects. And finally, the gloves come off as The Kon and Richie take the DC vs. Marvel battle outside the ring, for an all out nerd-tastic brawl. We have all that, and so much more, on this week's episode of: The Beta Report.
Its Episode 73! Thor! Taika! Thor! Taika! Thor: Ragnarok just dropped a new trailer and its fantastic. We have our reaction to that interstellar beauty and we can't stop ourselves from gushing over director Taika Waititi and all of his movies. Seriously, do yourself a favor and watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What we do in the Shadows, and the Team Thor Shorts. We promise you wont be disappointed. We also tour the world of Reddit in a brand new edition of Cat Chat. Plus, the world's longest intro!
