ENDGAME: REVIEW (Spoilers)

Last week completely wrecked us. With Game of Thrones’ Battle of Winterfell and Avengers: Endgame both premiering in the same week, our poor little hearts could barely contain themselves. But, after 11 years, 21 movies later, its all led us to this [Cue the Avengers Theme song in your mind]: ENDGAME! We’ve got your spoiler filled review HERE, so listeners beware. Is Netflix a Sinking Ship?

We’re all saddened by the sudden—yet expected—news that The Punisher and Jessica Jones are now officially cancelled. The general consensus is that they’ll more than likely return on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+ due out later this year (presumably in the fall). So, with Disney making a push at the streaming service game and Hulu as well as Amazon Prime releasing great original content, is Netflix a sinking ship doomed to go under? Is there enough original content on Netflix’s roster to keep you on their service? Are they doing a good enough job of supplementing what’s leaving with something as good and/or better? The Beta Boys tackle all these questions and more, including a review of one of those original series: The Umbrella Academy.

Love is blind, but you don’t have to be when it comes to your Valentine’s Day movie choices. Love comes in many forms, so we wanted to celebrate 7 unconventional choices that will hopefully get the flames of love burning with your date. The Beta Bros also uncover a hidden in plain sight love virtuoso. You’ll be shocked to find out which group of films by the same director, we believe are the epitome of unorthodox romance movies.

The Beta Boys talk about the implications of Iron Fist and now Luke Cage getting cancelled and what that might mean for the remaining Marvel shows: Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

This week, we discuss the return of JJ Abrams to the Star Wars Universe as its being reported that he has now been hired to write and direct Episode IX after Colin Trevorrow's firing. We also talk Narcos: Season 3, Little Evil, and Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water, which we unfortunately missed in our last episode "Fall Preview (Movies)".

FALL PREVIEW (MOVIES)

It's Episode 89! It's a sad day here at The Beta Report HQ as we say goodbye to Game of Thrones Season 7, and even more devastating...we bid farewell to the beloved (mostly by us) "Game of Bros" segment! Nevertheless, we unsheathe our gallant words one last time this year and breakdown the season finale of GoT: "The Dragon and the Wolf". But, beware...SPOILERS are gnawing and clawing like the army of the dead in this episode. So, again, beware and proceed with caution.

We also breakdown some of our most anticipated movies of the Fall. With some obvious choices like IT, Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, to some not so obvious picks like Jackie Chan's The Foreigner and...Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle?

The Defenders Review (Plus GoB)

It's Episode 86! The Defenders is finally here! For what felt like ages, Marvel has finally released its Netflix heroes' team-up adventure series and we've seen the whole thing. We got our SPOILER FREE REVIEW as well as our thoughts on the question everyone seems to be asking...is Iron Fist/Danny Rand better here than in his own series? We answer that and a few other questions regarding some of the show's other heroes, villains, and their futures in the NMCU (Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe). 

Plus, we have another entry in the ongoing Game of Bros (GoB) segment, as Game of Thrones continues to march past the threshold of awesomeness with another great episode. This week we dissect Episode 6, "Beyond the Wall" as The Magnificent 7 aka The Suicide Squad aka The Westeros Avengers, go wight hunting in the snow. Zombie polar bears, flaming swords, Tormund and The Hound talking about Brienne...this episode has it all! By the way, "Tormund & The Hound" is the next great buddy-cop-Lethal-Weapon-Esque spin-off show that needs to happen. We got you HBO, let us write it. Hit us up!

Game of Bros

It's Episode 85! On today's episode, The Beta Bros take on Season 7 of Game of Thrones.
