DC Talk: Swamp Thing Sinks While Battinson Soars

DC for all its rich lore, storied history, and decades of comic book triumphs, is still trying to find its way out of Marvel Studio’s shadow. But, with the recent success of movies like Shazam! and Aquaman and the criminally underrated DC Universe slate of shows including Doom Patrol, DC is finally starting to dig itself out of the murky stinking bog of mediocrity and public appeal. Couple that with all of the upcoming DC projects headed our way like: James Gunn’s Suicide Squad, Joaquin Phoenix’s The Joker, and the Robert Pattinson led Batman movie, I think it was time for TBR to break out The DC Talk! Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Reaction & Breakdown

The new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home was just released and its amazing. Its so great, it even needed its own Spoiler Warning for Avengers: Endgame. Celebrate the Saga: The MCU Makes History & Our Endgame Prep

Guys…we’re in the endgame now. And, that’s not just in reference to the new Avengers movie, but for all movies and how we enjoy watching them. The Infinity Saga has completely redefined our movie going experience and the sheer thought of what the MCU/Marvel Studios has been able to accomplish is amazing. To put it plainly, there has been at least one marvel movie in theaters for the past 11 years!!! So, for that, we’re not only going to talk about Endgame, we also want to take the time to celebrate the saga and look back at the last 11 years/21 movies and recount some of our favorite characters, moments, quotes, etc. All leading to our Endgame Prep. GLASS REVIEW (SPOILER-ISH)

In case you guys haven’t heard, GLASS has made more than $100 Million Dollars in the box office to date. It only took $20 Million to make. That’s insane! But, it is good though? Did we really need this trilogy 18 years after Unbreakable first burst onto the scene? And the twists…were they effective or is it all just played out now? The Beta Bros take a deep dive into M. Night Shyamalan’s introspection of the superhero genre to give you guys their impressions, likes, and dislikes.

We also talk about Glass’ main competition last weekend with the return of our favorite gun wielding vigilante Frank Castle in Netflix’s The Punisher, Season 2. Jay also gives his thoughts on the third season of the HBO thriller: True Detective. Its a packed show!

Punishing the Glass

No, this isn’t the Beta Report’s new NBA-centric podcast about great rebounders in NBA history. It’s just a clever title. Although, that would be a pretty great idea. File away for later (Patent Pending)…This is however one of those moments where the universe just aligns things for you perfectly and you have no choice but to bring it to light: Punisher+Glass=Jigsaw…this stuff writes itself!

Anyway, on today’s episode the Beta Boy’s preview two of their most anticipated releases of 2019: The Punisher Season 2 and M. Night Shyamalan’s GLASS! There are a lot of things on the line for these two releases, like is M. Night Shyamalan’s resurgence for real or is he destined to fall back into mediocrity? And, is The Punisher the next Marvel Netflix show in the cancellation cross-hairs no matter how great it is? Tofurky Talk & Leftover Thoughts
